Josh Leutz

Executive Creative Director / Writer
Hello. I’m an independent Creative Director & Writer available for select projects, consulting and casual conversation. I’ve worked at lots of places but here’s a little about my last three stops.

Most recently, Carmichael Lynch. As Executive Creative Diector, my brief was to transform the agency’s creative product. To that end, I rebuilt the department -- ultimately managing 30-plus kind and talented human beings adept at ideas of all shapes and sizes. I was part of the agency’s most successful and profitable run to date.

The Martin Agency is consistently regarded as one of the top five agencies in the world. Aside from the pedigree of the place, I went there for the managerial challenge and the opportunity to assemble a team. Although known as a creative shop, I learned a lot about strategy there.

I consider Butler Shine Stern & Partners my spiritual home in advertising. That’s largely down to the people and the culture, which was very collaborative and open.  It was a fast-paced, borderline crazy environment and we were never afraid to try stuff. BSSP was awarded Small Agency of the Decade by Adweek.

Along the way, I’ve worked on clients like BMW MINI Global, Priceline, Heineken USA, Google, Microsoft, KAYAK, Mondelez (Ritz and Chips Ahoy!), H&R Block, Roku, Travelocity, Mission Foods, Sunrun Solar, EAS Sports Nutrition, Phillips, Cargill, Sierra Trading Post, etcetera and so on.

And picked up awards from the One Show, the Effies, Cannes, Clios and Communication Arts, among others.

I love soccer (Dutch soccer), film, art, trail running and bohemian modern architecture (it’s a thing). I live in Minneapolis with Molly, Mae, Ruud and two small dogs.

Thank you and good day.
